This is a temporary position and there are no leave or retirement benefits offered with this position. This temporary position is located at 1915 Blue Ridge Rd., Raleigh - Wake County, with Department of Administration.   

Job Order Hourly Rate of Pay: $18.60(Based on education and/or years of relevant work experience reflected on the application).  

Effective July 1, 2025, candidates now meet the minimum qualifications of a position if they have the minimum education and experience listed from the class specification.  The Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities listed within this vacancy announcement will be used only as management preferences and will be used to screen for the most qualified pool of applicants.

Job duties and responsibilities include but may not be limited to:

  • Ensuring vehicle keys are secured, and all vehicle doors are locked. 
  • Submitting required documentation and forms within prescribed division timelines.
  • Transporting vehicles offsite as needed.
  • Processing new vehicles and up-fitting vehicles with a telematics unit, stickers, decals, and other types of state identification. 
  • Ensuring that all new vehicles are free of defects/issues before they are assigned. 
  • Processing surplus vehicles for disposal and ensures that telematics unit, stickers, decals, and other types of state identification are removed prior to being delivered for disposal. 
  • Processing used vehicles for reassignment. 
  • Aiding customers at the MFM fuel pump.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Education and Experience

High school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
