A Brief Summary of This Position:
This position reports to the Manager of ICI/KENDAR IND Distribution Center – North America Irrigation and provides general administrative support for the Kendar Industries/ICI staff at all N.A. locations. The incumbent maintains a professional working relationship with Managers, Warehouse Staff, Accounts Receivables and other various departments throughout all the distribution locations. The incumbent’s work is utilized within the organization, as well as outside of Valmont’s organizations. The Administrative Assistant provides general clerical duties which includes managing a variety of general office activities and supporting management by performing administrative tasks.
Essential Functions:
- Basic knowledge of material, machines, cost centers, techniques, processes, and work flow used within distribution.
- High degree of self-motivation and the ability to analyze data for accuracy
- The ability to maintain a professional working relationship with various stakeholders
- Excellent communication, organizational, analytical and interpersonal skills
- The ability to multi-task and maintain a high-level of concentration despite interruptions and office noise which may include re-arranging daily work schedule or being flexible to assure the facility’s workflow
- The ability to work unsupervised and make a wide variety of office management decisions
- The ability to process, correct, track and record daily records and reports within the stipulated deadlines
- A demonstrated commitment to safety and a willingness to take personal responsibility for safety
Required Qualifications of Every Candidate (Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities):
- Bachelor’s degree; Associate’s degree; or High School diploma and 2+ years of work experience
- Experience proofreading business documents for grammar, spelling, syntax and format
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Excellent organization, verbal and written communication skills
Working Environment and Physical Efforts:
This position requires the employee to regularly reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, or crouch; talk or hear or smell. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and ability to adjust focus.
