CAMS is seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Administrative Assistant to join our team at Middletown Energy Center (MEC), a 475 MW natural gas combined-cycle power generation facility located in Middletown, Ohio.
The Administrative Assistant supports the daily administrative, accounting, procurement, inventory, and office operations of the facility. This position serves as a key resource for plant personnel, vendors, and visitors while providing primary backup support to the Administrative Manager.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, self-motivated, and capable of managing multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and professionalism.
This position is covered by the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW): Local 1347
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Support accounts payable processes, including invoice verification, record maintenance, and coordination with vendors, supervisors, and the Materials Specialist
- Process and manage purchase requisitions and purchase orders
- Match vendor invoices to receiving documentation and packing slips for payment approval
- Manage the inventory administration, physical inventory counts, reconciliation activities, and monthly reporting
- Maintain administrative records, plant files, and document control systems
- Welcome visitors and coordinate site access procedures
- Answer and route incoming telephone calls professionally and efficiently
- Maintain Certificates of Insurance and other compliance-related documentation
- Ensure office and administrative workspaces remain organized and professional
- Prepare reports, correspondence, presentations, and other administrative documentation as needed
- Provide administrative support to plant leadership and personnel
- Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned
- Occasional weekend and holiday work may be required based on business needs
- Participation in the Company's Fitness for Duty Program is required, including post-offer physical examinations, drug screening, and random drug testing
- Tobacco and smoking restrictions apply at the facility
- Position is primarily office-based within an operating power generation facility

- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of two (2) years of administrative or general office experience
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Outlook, and Excel
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
- Experience supporting accounting, accounts payable, procurement, inventory management, or purchasing functions
- General accounting experience
- Experience working in a power generation, industrial, manufacturing, utility, or similar environment
- Experience using Microsoft PowerPoint, Access, and Visio
- Experience maintaining electronic tracking systems, reports, and databases
