The Foundation for California Community Colleges incubates, scales, and sustains solutions to California’s education-related opportunities and challenges through the Collaborative Impact Program. The Strategic Support for Colleges and Scholars team provides scholarships, emergency financial aid, and grants to colleges, primarily from endowments and charitable gifts for those purposes. Funding sources currently include the California Community Colleges Scholarship Endowment, Nursing Education Investment Fund, Real Estate Education Endowment, K16 Regional Education Collaborative, Student Relief Fund, Wildfire & Disaster Relief Fund, Bick / Koop Endowment, and annual gifts from corporate partners.

What You’ll Do

This role will provide comprehensive administrative support to ensure the smooth functioning of a portfolio of scholarships, emergency financial aid, and grants programs under the direction of the Manager, Strategic Support for Colleges and Scholars. The Strategic Support for Colleges and Scholars team is part of the Resource Development Department, which also includes teams for grants development and management, gifts and corporate partnerships, and resource operations and insights.

  • Provide administrative support for scholarship, emergency financial aid, and grant programs that help expand educational opportunities for California community college students.
  • Maintain accurate records and track scholarship, grant, donor, and partner information to support program operations and reporting.
  • Coordinate meetings, prepare agendas and materials, take meeting notes, and manage team calendars and communications.
  • Prepare and organize program documents, reports, and communications while ensuring accuracy and data integrity across systems, including Salesforce and Asana.
  • Support the Network of California Community Colleges Foundation (NCCCF) by coordinating board meetings, maintaining records, and assisting with member communications and engagement activities.
  • Assist with planning and coordinating special events, including board meetings, roundtable discussions, newsletters, and the annual Osher Philanthropist of the Year Award event.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support contracting, purchasing, reporting, and day-to-day program operations in a fast-paced, remote-first environment.

Attributes for Success

  • Minimum of 2+ years work experience in an administrative capacity in an office environment
  • Any experience in an education or non-profit environment is a plus
  • attention to detail, ensuring that all deliverables and projects are accurate, professional, and up to date
  • Experience with calendaring and scheduling meetings and coordinating complex events
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Teams, Word, Excel) and Google Suite (Docs and Sheets) required
  • Ability to work remotely and navigate various technology platforms that support remote teamwork (such as Zoom, Google Suite, MS Teams, Outlook, Asana, etc.)
  • Proficiency with database management processes and/or Salesforce or similar CRM software and experience with data entry
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, in particular demonstrated strong notetaking skills.

Budgeted Hourly Pay Range:

$21.00 - $24.00

Final salary and rates are based on education, experience, skills relevant to the role, and internal equity.
