Summary of Position
The Administrative Assistant serves as a strategic partner who helps multiply the effectiveness of the Director and the International Missions team. This role protects the Director’s time and focus by managing priorities, communication, and logistics, and helps ensure that critical projects and relationships move forward in alignment with the church’s vision of multiplying healthy churches around the world.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Exceptional organizational and time-management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to anticipate needs, solve problems proactively, and exercise sound judgment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- High level of discretion, trustworthiness, and emotional intelligence.
- Ability to represent leadership well and steward relationships with professionalism.
- At least two years of experience in executive support, operations, project management, or similar leadership support roles is preferred.
- A member of The Summit Church or willing and able to become a member
Responsibilities
- Strategic Support
- Serve as a trusted partner to the Director of International Missions, helping manage and track priorities, projects, and strategic initiatives to keep progress moving toward key goals.
- Build and optimize systems and processes that support team efficiency and organization.
- Coordinate logistics for key events, from planning through execution.
- Support the Director with additional administrative tasks as they arise.
- Communication
- Track and communicate progress on key projects and initiatives, keeping the Director informed of status, risks, and upcoming milestones.
- Filter and manage incoming requests, communication, and opportunities to determine what requires the Director’s attention.
- Communicate on the Director's behalf on routine or delegated matters, ensuring clarity and alignment with the International Missions strategy.
- Help manage relationships with staff, missionaries, and global partners by coordinating communication and follow-up.
Churchwide Events
The hours for this position are expected to be 40 hours per week. As one church that meets in many locations, there are several times throughout the year that Summit holds church-wide events in an effort to do whatever it takes to reach all people. All staff members are expected to serve at these church-wide events regardless of the positions they hold.
Such events include, but are not limited to: Easter services, church-wide prayer meetings, Good Friday service, and Christmas services. Serving expectations will be communicated in advance of each event.
