The Opportunity:

As the Administrative Assistant 3 for Student Affairs, you will work under general supervision and independently perform professional-level administrative assignments that support the Senior Associate Vice Provost and other executive leaders within the Division of Student Affairs. In this role, you will manage complex systems and processes that support assessment initiatives, fundraising efforts, administrative personnel functions, and event logistics.

To support WSU’s ability to attract talent in a competitive job market, this recruitment has been approved for a hiring incentive payment of up to $2,500.00. Additional Information:

This is a full time (100% FTE), permanent position. This position is overtime eligible.

Monthly Salary: $4,004 to $5,376 | Range 44 | Steps A - M | Successful candidates are typically hired at the beginning of the salary range and receive scheduled salary increment increases in accordance with WAC 357-28.
In accordance with RCW 49.58.110, the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate’s current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position.

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent AND three years of clerical, office or administrative experience. OR An Associate’s degree in business administration, public administration, or a closely related field may substitute for experience. AND One year of experience as an Administrative Assistant 2 or two years as an Administrative Assistant 1. OR Equivalent education/experience.

  • Computer software skills, including the ability to use office software, such as databases, spreadsheets, word processing, presentation tools, etc.

  • Demonstrated working knowledge of policies and procedures in a complex academic institution or similar complex organization.

  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evening and occasional weekends.

  • Experience in handling personnel administration.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree.

  • Experience working with students and families in administrative settings.

  • Experience working with donors, donor records, and institutional alumni.
