Regional Demand Planner
Huntsman is seeking a Regional Demand Planner supporting our GBS Site located in San Jose, Costa Rica. This position will report to the Demand Manager.
Job Scope
The Demand team is Huntsman’s regional support responsible for creating and shaping the demand plan from internal and external demand signals, coordinating input from commercial and marketing stakeholders, while keeping a critical mindset and challenging assumptions supporting the plan. The initial focus of the team will be to support our Advanced Materials divisions for the North American and South American region.
We are looking for someone that can balance commercial priorities and operation capabilities, an excellent communicator with various internal and external stakeholders and a high focus on data and metrics.
In summary, as the Regional Demand Planner, you will:
- Owning the demand plan for the next 24 months for your markets, gathering external and internal information that affect the demand and finalize demand plan accordingly at SKU/customer level,
- Working closely with the commercial team to challenge sales forecast, takes final decision on demand plan and inform actively commercial team,
- Communicating demand plan changes to supply planning team, but also to all necessary stakeholders (operations, supply chain, marketing),
- Understanding how supply constraints are affecting the demand plan and reflect them properly and timely,
- Supporting marketing department in portfolio rationalization exercise,
- Acting as a counterpart for other regions demand planners,
- Reviewing necessity of safety stock and determines their value,
- Supply Planning guidance and mitigation action plans,
- Coordinating and prioritizing execution of the demand by communicating actively with supply planning team,
- Developing mitigation action plans whenever supply cannot meet demand, generate consensus with commercial teams, provide decision and guidance in a timely manner.
- Proposing regional allocations for constrained product line, follow-up their execution and provide action plans when deviation is seen,
- Driving monthly IBP Pre-Meeting before regional business review for her/his markets,
- Coordinating, organizing and challenging the input from sales and marketing. Review assumptions supporting the demand plan. Assess risks and opportunities linked to it,
- Considering constrained supply information from supply planning and operation teams and revise demand plan accordingly,
- Strategic forecast and demand analytics.
Qualifications
You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.
The candidate must have an unrestricted right to work for Huntsman in Costa Rica.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or master’s Degree, preferably in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering,
- 3+ years of experience with a proven track record in demand planning and forecasting, ideally in the chemical sector.
Skills and knowledge
- High digital literacy and high proficiency in major IT tools (SAP, Excel, PowerBI),
- Fluency in English.
- Strong communication skills to deliver both detailed solution and the big picture,
- Strong interpersonal skills and team oriented.
Preferred Qualifications
- Understanding of supply planning and production planning, new product introduction and material planning,
