Young Harris College invites applications for an adjunct professor of Computer Science position beginning August 1, 2026. The successful candidate will have earned at least a Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology(IT), Information Systems(IS), or a related degree. Strong commitment to teaching in a liberal arts undergraduate curriculum is required. Candidate must be comfortable with technology and experience with Moodle is a plus.
Duties will primarily include teaching CSCI 1100: Introduction to Personal Computing. This is an introductory course that describes how computers are applied to solving problems in our information-oriented society. Included is a study of fundamental hardware, operating systems, networking, computer privacy and security, and the social, economic, and legal impact of information systems. Standard business-based software packages (MS Office) are used by students to solve a variety of problems. This course is required for many of our science majors who use Excel in their coursework and is also an elective for a diverse set of students across campus.
