What will a ADC Supervisor do?

  • Through words and actions support Chattanooga Goodwill’s Mission, Vision, and Values; furthermore, actions and decisions will align with organizational guiding principles.
  • Maintain agency, employee, and participant confidentiality. Violation of confidentiality may be cause for termination. 
  • Punctual and dependable attendance.
  • Hire, train, motivate, develop, and supervise all ADC staff. 
  • Visit each site daily and provide guidance and support when needed.
  • Always ensure adequate staffing at the ADC.
  • Open and close the site in case of staffing issues. Work ADC site as required for business needs.
  • Be a donation center subject matter expert on all processes, assist in all functions performed by ADC attendants.
  • Assist in loading/unloading of Goodwill trucks and trailers.
  • Manage expenses, including labor, and stay within budgeted expectations. 
  • Ensure that staff follow the GRATIS model and provide exceptional customer service.
  • Ensure that donor counts are accurately captured and reported.
  • Ensure that the donation centers are organized and clean and follow all sorting processes accurately and consistently.
  • Satisfactorily complete all administrative tasks, including but not limited to timecard review/approval, reporting, and recordkeeping. 
  • Champion a safe working environment.
  • Must be available to work during operating business hours as needed for business operations. The work schedule includes days, evenings, holidays, and blackout periods, weekends are required.
  • Attend and complete all training and meetings as required.
  • Conduct mandatory monthly meetings with staff.
  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned.

Key knowledge and experience

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 1 year of experience in a supervisory role of 10 or more employees.
  • Driver license for 3 years.
  • Valid Driver’s License and Car Insurance Verification, required.
  • Must pass MVR check and maintain a good driving record.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to coach and tactfully assist fellow employees. 
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritize and organize work.
  • Critical thinking skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven work environment. Basic math skills.

Skills Required

  • High school diploma or GED
  • At least one year of supervisory experience managing 10 or more employees
  • Driver license held for at least three years
  • Valid driver's license
