ADAS DevOps Java Engineer

The Advance Driver Assistance Technology (ADAS) team develops state-of-the-art software and algorithms to deliver best-in-class features like adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, blind spot monitoring, and 360 camera systems. ADAS also developed Ford's industry-first Pro Trailer Hitch Assist, securing over 60 patents in the process. The team is responsible for the full end-to-end delivery of these features into production on all Ford vehicle lines.

In the Ford Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) team, we design and develop functional models and hardware that provide best-in-class performance for features like Adaptive Cruise Control, Automatic Emergency Braking, Cross Traffic Alert, and 360 camera systems. The ADAS team also develops and delivers software for advanced features that make use of machine learning and artificial intelligence such as BlueCruise, Pro Trailer Backup Assist, and Pro Trailer Hitch Assist. Our job is to build the platform on which we develop and improve these features, and to drive operational efficiency as we scale to meet the needs of our millions of customers.

What you'll do

Deploy continuous integration pipelines using Tekton/Jenkins/Github actions

Develop and maintain existing GCP IaC code using terraform

Develop and maintain existing infrastructure on Openshift

Automate process and testing using GitHub Actions/Tekton

Enable SRE/observability tools like ELK stack/Grafana across applications

Collaborate with applications owner to decide on metrics/dashboard to monitor

Develop small enhancements to existing Springboot Java Application

Develop and maintain documentation for existing and write implementation plans using various code documentation tools like mkdocs/sphinx/javadoc

Evaluate new tools and technologies in DevOps/SRE space

Collaborate with software developers, IT security, QA and development

You'll have

Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Network and Systems Administration, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering or related field

5+ years of relevant professional work experience

2+ years of experience developing backend services in Java using Springboot

3+ years of experience developing and maintaining CI/CD tools and environments in a large enterprise (e.g. Git, JFrog/Nexus, Docker, Jenkins/CircleCI/Concurse/GithubAction or similar tools)

2+ year of experience deploying in Kubernetes and/or Docker environments

2+ years of experience with cloud-based environments such as GCP or AWS

1+ year of experience writing IaC using Terraform/cloudformation or any similar tools

Even better, you may have

Master of Science Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Network and Systems Administration, Electrical Engineering or Software Engineering or related field

7+ years of relevant professional work experience

4+ years of experience developing backend services in Java using Springboot

4+ years of experience in building software/DevOps

2+ years of experience building and supporting Java applications

3+ years of experience with cloud native infrastructure technologies (e.g. Kubernetes, AWS, Azure, GCP etc.)

2+ years of experience on configuring and building containerized solutions (e.g. Docker)

2+ experience writing CI?CD pipeline in Github actions/Jenkins or similar tools

GCP or AWS certified.

Strong understanding of merging and branching code using version control tools

Familiarity with creating monitoring dashboards using Grafana or similar

Familiarity with different RDBMS and No-SQL (Elastic)

Excellent communication skills both vertically and horizontally within the organization related to all aspects of technical leadership - written and verbal.
