About the role and team
The Ad Operations Specialist will play a key role in Uber Advertising across Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Taiwan and India. Working closely with regional Sales teams, offshore operations, Product and Engineering, this role ensures seamless campaign execution while identifying opportunities to improve operational efficiency, advertiser outcomes and revenue performance.
Based in Sydney and supporting the broader APAC business, you'll serve as a key operational partner, bridging commercial, technical and product teams to solve complex challenges, and help shape scalable operating frameworks as the business grows.
This is a highly technical operations role requiring strong analytical capability, structured problem-solving and the ability to navigate complex advertising technology ecosystems.
The role is critical to the success of Uber's advertising partners, their campaigns, and the in-country Ad Sales teams across APAC. With Ads being one of Uber’s major growth priorities, this position is essential in the market. As Uber’s portfolio of advertisers expands, this role will be pivotal in scaling operational processes to support continued sales growth.
What you’ll do
You’ll thrive in this role if you enjoy solving complex problems, dissecting issues across multiple systems, and working closely with technical and engineering partners.
- Partner closely with Sales, Product, Engineering and offshore Operations teams to resolve complex operational challenges.
- Act as the regional operational lead for Display campaigns, coordinating across multiple stakeholders to ensure campaigns are launched accurately and efficiently.
- Apply structured, framework-driven approaches to campaign operations, standardising processes and identifying opportunities to improve quality, scalability and execution efficiency.
- Understand ad platform updates that affect campaign setup and communicate these to stakeholders.
- Participate in pre-campaign discussions to ensure complex campaigns are set up for success from the beginning.
- Serve as the regional subject matter expert for the ad serving platform, partnering with global teams to resolve issues and share best practices.
- Track and monitor key weekly operational & performance metrics using internal tooling, often requiring SQL, as well as product dashboards.
Basic Qualifications
- Proven experience in the digital advertising industry, with a strong understanding of ad operations, technology, scripting, and working with ad-tech and backend systems.
- Comfortable navigating complex systems and independently resolving ambiguous technical issues.
- Bachelor's degree in a quantitative, scientific or technical field.
- Experience in the ANZ market, working with advertisers across various industries.
- Minimum three years of experience in Ad Operations, AdTech, digital advertising, or a similar role at a data-driven, tech-savvy company.
- Hands-on experience in managing and optimizing digital advertising campaigns.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to work independently.
- Analytical mindset, with data-driven and quantitative skills, including proficiency in MS Excel and Salesforce.
- Strong project management and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with other APAC markets is beneficial.
- SQL proficiency and exposure to data analytics are a plus.
- Excellent English skills
