We are looking for an ACUCOBOL Developer. This position will be full-time and Hybrid.
What You’ll Do
- Clear understanding of business requirements.
- Functional testing with focus on Analytical thinking.
- Expert in test script preparation.
- Good knowledge of Automation tools and Understanding of programming language.
- Good knowledge with Agile, DevOps and Continuous delivery.
- Maintain good communication and interaction with stakeholders.
- Able to learn new technologies.
- Able to access and mitigate risks.
- Actively collaborates with team and stakeholders.
What You'll Need
Required:
- Proven hands-on experience with ACUCOBOL / ACUCOBOL-GT development.
- Strong understanding of COBOL programming constructs.
- Experience with ACUCOBOL runtime environments, ACUCOBOL screen section/UI ,Indexed files, sequential files, file handling and ACUCOBOL debugging tools.
- Knowledge of integrating ACUCOBOL with databases (e.g., SQL, ISAM).
- Experience working in UNIX/Linux or Windows environments.
- Ability to analyze complex legacy systems and refactor code.
- Familiarity with version control tools (e.g., Git, SVN).
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and documentation abilities.
Preferred:
- Experience migrating ACUCOBOL applications to Micro Focus COBOL, .NET ,Cloud platforms.
- Understanding of REST/SOAP APIs and integration patterns.
- Exposure to ERP, financial, or operations systems.
- Experience with modernization tools or frameworks.
Physical Demands
- Sedentary work that involves sitting or remaining stationery most of the time with occasional need to move around the office to attend meetings, etc.
- Ability to conduct repetitive tasks on a computer, utilizing a mouse, keyboard, and monitor.
