About the Role

Lead a sub-team in EV reporting team and be responsible for delivering quality service, effective output in performance, strategic actuarial initiatives, and unfold team capacity to upper level.
This role contributes to the delivery of customer outcomes that are reliable, thoughtful, and create meaningful impact for customers and society. The role holder is expected to embed a customer first mindset in all decisions and actions by developing a clear understanding of customer needs, taking end to end ownership to resolve issues, and working collaboratively across teams to continuously enhance the customer journey—both directly and indirectly.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Manage the sub-team to deliver timely and high quality deliverables related to EV and VONB reporting for a specified line of business.
  • Ensure timely and correctness of results as prepared by the team on the valuation and business projection process and other duties/special projects related to financial reporting & budget
  • Responsible for the results consolidation for EV / VONB and ANW Reporting and ensure consistency across different line of businesses
  • Ensure the compliance of various financial reporting requirements from group office and regulators
  • Drive continuous improvement in system, process and approach to automate and streamline reporting process to facilitate faster closing
  • Knowledge sharing with other team members
  • Support other actuarial projects as required by performing financial projections and profitability analysis for annual and ad hoc exercise

Minimum Job Requirements:

  • University / College graduate in Actuarial Science, Mathematics and Statistics or related subject with at least 8 years’ experience in life insurance industry.
  • Good progress in Actuarial professional examination
  • Sound analytical, problem solving and communication skills.
  • Ability to deal with and handle multiple priorities.
  • Experience and knowledge in insurance product and actuarial reporting work. Knowledge in IFRS 17 / HKRBC basis / economic capital is an asset.
  • Proficiency in actuarial software, e.g. Prophet is an advantage
