This Actuarial Analyst position plays a key role for the General Liability LOB Actuarial team and will be supporting the traditional actuarial rate execution function.
The position will be responsible for developing filing strategy and supporting the end-to-end filing process. The candidate will have the opportunity to directly interact with business partners, including Product, IT, and multiple groups across Actuarial.
We are looking for individuals who are curious and motivated to improve current processes and who can communicate effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Responsibilities:
Propose state rate filing strategies in conjunction with the latest ISO rates and forms.
Develop enhancements to streamline and improve state filings process
Partner with Product to communicate rate strategy with segment business partners
Partner with Product to support product enhancements to enhance the GL’s competitive position in an evolving market
Complete ad hoc projects to support business priorities
Experience & Skills
Bachelor’s Degree required.
Actuarial exam path to become a credentialed actuary with at least 2-4 passed exams required.
Strong analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to effectively resolve complex issues.
Strong Excel skills required. Knowledge of SQL, VBA, R, Python, SAS or similar code languages a plus.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Attention to detail with strong time and project management skills.
Driven, intellectually curious, passionate, resourceful and creative.
Proactive individual, who challenges existing processes, can influence others and drive a process to a conclusion while meeting critical deadlines
Work Arrangement:
This role will be hybrid in our Hartford CT location.
Compensation
The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:
