Job Description

An exciting opportunity exists within the Personal Finance Actuarial team offering exposure to an interesting combination of technical and business issues.  The role is responsible for review of consolidated financial results for published and regulatory reporting and to extract insights for business consideration.  The role acts as main client relationship manager for the team to all internal stakeholders and Auditors.

Sound technical knowledge of Financial Reporting requirements and Personal Finance Products is required, with a strong planning and delivery focus.  The role also requires team management and coaching of team members.

Key Result Areas:

• Financial, Regulatory and Capital Reporting:  Review results and ensure consolidated reporting is produced with appropriate analysis and commentary

• Business Partnering and Insights:  Extract insights for business consideration and collaborate effectively with both business and specialized areas across all levels, including Auditor Liaison, point of contact for interactions with Head of Actuarial Function and Group Actuarial

• Capital Management:  Responsible for submissions to the Capital Management Committee, analyse drivers of capital and investigate capital optimisation opportunities

• Business Planning/Forecasting/Monthly Reporting:  Produce information for monthly reporting and forecasting as well as ongoing monitoring of the financial impacts of the business strategy

• Reporting Capability:  Ensure processes and models are efficient, robust and fit for purpose.  Drive synergies and standardization and ensure the control environment is adequate and effective

• Projects:  Support the delivery of relevant projects as and when these arise

• Provide mentorship, leadership and training to the team

Skills, Qualifications & Experience required:

• A qualified Actuary with minimum 8 years technical experience

• Strong technical skills and attention to detail

• Financial reporting and/or valuation or capital experience

• Knowledge of Personal Finance environment, products and systems

• Experience leading a team
