As an Actuarial Intern, you'll gain hands-on experience in the day-to-day operations of a financial services company. You'll collaborate with professionals in areas like Enterprise Risk Management, Product Management, or Corporate Actuarial Financial Reporting, contributing to real projects that impact the business.
Your Key Responsibilities:
- Data Analysis: Conduct data manipulation, organization, and analysis to support critical decision-making.
- Modeling: Run actuarial models, analyze outputs for accuracy, and ensure consistency.
- Documentation: Verify factors used in computations, document processes, and help automate reports and spreadsheets.
- Tool Development: Create and refine calculation tools to support pricing and valuation efforts.
- Specialized Tasks: Depending on your area, you may develop rate filings, in-force files, and experience study results or assist in determining premiums, benefits, and pricing levels.

What You Need to Succeed:
Required:
- Academic Background: Pursuing a major in actuarial science or a related financial/mathematical field.
- SOA Exam: Completed at least one SOA exam.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Access, and Word.
- Proactive and Independent: Ability to take initiative, work independently, meet deadlines, and interact professionally with colleagues.
Preferred:
- Programming Skills: Experience with programming languages like VBA, Python, or R.
- Relevant Experience: Prior work experience, including internships or co-ops, is a plus.
Internship Details:
- Duration: A twelve-week program starting in May 2026
- Compensation: Pay rate starts at $22 per hour
- Schedule: Full-time (Monday -- Friday, 8:15 a.m. -- 5:00 p.m.)
