**This position is eligible to work a hybrid (3 days in office per week) schedule from the Des Moines metro**
Essential Functions:
Paid internship working in EMC’s corporate actuarial team
Collaborates with Actuarial Operations/Predictive Analytics team on projects
Performs basic analysis for Actuarial Operations/Predictive Analytics teams
Gathers information for analysis
Organizes data into spreadsheets and databases
Communicates results of analysis, project updates, and key findings to actuarial leaders
Develops understanding of insurance operations, statistical analysis, data management and computer programming
Education & Experience:
Actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, computer science or related major
Cumulative GPA of 3.25 or higher
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Knowledge of statistics and probability
Strong analytical, investigation, problem-solving and critical thinking skills
Knowledge of Microsoft Excel & Power BI preferred
Familiarity with R, SAS, SQL &/or Python preferred
Effective verbal and written communication skills
Potential to Continue with EMC: Depending on business needs and individual performance, interns may have the opportunity to continue working with EMC in a part-time capacity following the internship.
