The HK Corporate Actuarial department of Manulife is looking for actuarial students or qualified actuaries with solid financial reporting or capital management experience to join us.
Position Responsibilities:
1. HK Risk-Based Capital - reporting and optimization related to HKRBC regime:
· Production: Understand the existing production process of statutory reserves and financials, perform analysis and participate in RBC reporting audit, process and control.
· Prepare financial projections under RBC basis and Stressed Scenario Testing for ORSA report to fulfill GL21 requirement
· Explore initiatives to optimize capital deployment under HKRBC basis including ALM initiatives and modelling enhancement and perform necessary sensitivity/scenario testing for management decisions
· Support monthly RBC estimate and adhoc requests from the IA.
· Work closely with modeling teams and pricing team on new product implementation, review the UAT results and understand the financial implications of subsequent model changes and assumption basis changes.
· Handle the regular capital submissions and related analysis (e.g. Local capital Plan, Financial Condition Testing and Target capital setting).
· Collaborate with pricing team in assessing the financial implications of product and business strategy, focusing on capital payback and new business profitability.
2. Macau capital management - support the local capital management function, mainly responsible for delivering the local valuation and solvency results and capital monitoring
· Deliver the monthly production of local statutory reserve.
· Support implementation of proposed Macau RBC framework
Required Qualifications:
- Degree holder of actuarial science, or related fields, and a relevant working experience in the insurance industry.
- Solid actuarial knowledge and experience in valuation and financial reporting.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with demonstrated ability to work with complex financial issues and concepts.
- Attention to detail.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Always demonstrate initiatives and commitment, and able to work independently.
- Able to manage multiple and conflicting requests from various parties.
- Effective command of English, both spoken and written.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong technical/modeling skills, knowledge or experience in Python, Microsoft Access, VBA and AXIS is an asset.
