We’re looking for a talented Actuarial Analyst who is eager to revolutionize pet insurance.
In this role, you’ll be managing rate levels, held build advanced pricing tools, and bringing actuarial discipline to all facets of Lemonade Pet—working cross-functionally with underwriting, claims, product, engineering, and data science. You’ll leverage competitive data, machine learning, and data science to optimize our customers’ experience and ensure fairness and accuracy in pricing. You’ll also help automate actuarial processes and develop innovative solutions that improve pricing decisions at scale.

In this role you’ll
Become an owner and expert on our pet insurance state rating plans and rate indications
Craft rate filing support for new machine learning models
Identify areas for pricing and underwriting action based on ongoing monitoring of results
Build tools and dashboards that automate pricing analyses and support business decision-making
Build a knowledge base of competitor rating strategies and the overall competitive landscape
Further your own actuarial education through SOA or CAS exams and industry research while applying those learnings on the job
2+ SOA or CAS actuarial exams
Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field
General knowledge of data science programming languages such as R or Python (preferred), and proficiency in database query tools such as SQL
Prior pricing experience is a definite plus
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
Ability to work in an office environment 3 days per week in our Soho office

Lemonade's US base salary range for this full-time position is $80,000 - $97,500 plus equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Our competitive total rewards package includes comprehensive health & wellness coverage, equity, a 401(k) plan with employer match, 20 paid vacation days, and parental leave.
