The Software Engineer performs a wide range of duties including some or all the following:
- Prepares and integrates Actimize solutions
- Enhance existing solutions to match client requirements by configuring and customizing software using Actimize software, SQL / PostgreSQL and other technologies such as Java and Spring Boot.
- Determines technical feasibility by evaluating requirements and analysis as well as proposed solutions
- Tests and troubleshoots software solutions, configurations and customizations
- Provides information by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing development and service issues.
- Utilizes software engineering tools such as configuration management systems, build processes, and debuggers in the software development process
- Performs technical root cause analysis and outlines corrective action for given problems
- Ability to create databases, objects views and indexes, write and run queries to inspect data in the database.
- Ability to write XSD to define XOB model. If API integration is planned, there may be a need to understand requests and responses, in a JSON format.
- Ability to interact with a REST API. Ability to understand and diagnose any problems encountered.
- Apply a sense of urgency, commitment and focus on the right priorities in developing technical solutions in a timely fashion
- Java language is needed to implement Actimize software application.
- Strong Java experience (2+ years full in Java)
- Databases: MS SQL and PostgreSql
- Operating systems: Windows and Linux
- Web App servers: Tomcat or WebSphere
- Integration experience using APIs, DB, files, queues
- AWS/Kubernetes/Container experience is a plus
- Excellent communication and problem solving skills
- Pro-active approach to projects and problem solving
- Proficiency in use of the IDE.
- Financial industries experience is a plus
