KBR is seeking a highly motivated Space and Ground System Acquisition Management Engineer to support a Customer ground acquisition office.  The Office provides innovative technology solutions that enable the Customer to meet near and emerging national and defense intelligence needs through the development and operations of technology demonstrations, prototypes, and new systems that guide revolutionary change.  The successful candidate will have experience with existing Customer space and ground system acquisitions and be able to apply that knowledge to guide customers towards innovative technical solutions.  The successful candidate will be able to grasp technical concepts and communicate key findings and recommendations to various customers to enable informed decision-making on program development and procurement execution activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support acquisition engineering and program management/COTR support tasks for acquisition new starts and changes to program baselines.

  • Develop and write technical requirements for demonstration and development program phases.

  • Develop and write technical evaluation criteria and checklists for contractor demonstrations and milestone reviews.

  • Lead and facilitate technical engagements, meetings, and program office evaluations with multiple developers from demonstration through development phases, leading to system operations.

  • Support COTR management and contract execution tasks including development and review of contract CDRLs.

  • Support SOW and requirement development for RFPs and ECPs.

Basic Compensation:

$110,000 - $134,000 USD annually

The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, abilities and/or experience and in consideration of internal parity.

  • Location: On-site

  • Travel Requirements: Minimal travel

  • Working Hours: Standard

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Clearance: Must have an active/current TS/SCI with a Polygraph

  • Bachelor of Science STEM degree.

  • 3+ years supporting a Government acquisition program office.

  • Experience providing direct support to program COTR.

  • Exposure to the system design trade process, assessing system design options, analyzing mission requirements, monitoring system development, test development/execution.

  • System Engineering background with a focus on requirements development.

  • Experience in acquisition source selection and down-select and/or demonstration phase execution.

Desired:

  • Master’s degree in engineering discipline.   

  • 3+ years’ experience with Customer space and ground systems acquisition and/or sustainment.

  • Understanding of acquisition and operations best practices.

  • Contract execution oversight of programmatic and technical performance.

  • Satellite engineering or operations background (orbital dynamics and flight operations).
