Join our dynamic team as an Acoustic System Engineer, where your expertise in prototyping and evaluating cutting-edge audio technologies will be critical in enhancing the audio quality for consumer electronics like headsets. In this role, you'll conduct meticulous acoustic measurements, drive product specifications through data-driven insights, and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure our products exceed user expectations in audio performance and quality.
Responsibilities- Develop and execute comprehensive test plans for acoustic performance measurement on product prototypes.
- Perform acoustic simulations such as Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and Boundary Element Methods (BEM) to predict and optimize acoustic performance.
- Collect, categorize, and validate measurement data to support projects.
- Analyze factory production data and acoustic test results to identify trends, troubleshoot issues, and implement quality controls.
- Provide acoustic design recommendations and perform trade-off analysis for enhanced product feasibility.
- Create detailed documentation and reports for test results, simulation findings, and technical specifications.
- Support additional engineering activities as required, including tooling reviews and vendor qualifications.
- Bachelor's degree in Acoustics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- 3+ years of direct experience with audio hardware testing and acoustic measurement techniques.
- Proficiency with audio measurement tools such as SoundCheck, Audio Precision.
- Competency in scripting and analysis using MATLAB and Python for data processing and acoustic simulations.
- Operational expertise with COMSOL for conducting acoustic simulations to predict and optimize product performance.
- Expertise in the physical setup of acoustic measurements, including managing equipment like microphones and anechoic chambers.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, particularly in failure analysis and prototype verification.
