Pathfinder Bank is seeking an ACH & Checking Operations Specialist to support electronic banking operations within a community banking and financial services environment. This role supports ACH processing, checking operations, electronic banking platforms, reconciliation, and operational support, ensuring accurate and timely transaction processing while providing reliable service to customers and internal teams.

Position Summary

Supports electronic banking operations with a primary focus on ACH processing, reconciliation, and checking operations. Provides customer and employee support for electronic banking platforms while ensuring ACH transactions are processed accurately and within established processing requirements and timelines.

This role is responsible for daily ACH posting and balancing, coordinating file processing, identifying and escalating processing issues, supporting system testing and enhancements, and providing backup support across the department. Must be organized, detail oriented, and able to manage multiple time-sensitive priorities.

Essential Functions

• Perform daily posting and balancing of the ACH transaction warehouse and complete reconciliations of files received and sent
• Process ACH activity and ensure accurate and timely file delivery in accordance with established requirements and processing timelines
• Coordinate ACH processing involving Third-Party Senders, Originators, and other parties subject to NACHA processing requirements
• Maintain working knowledge of ACH functions and cross train across processes to support department coverage
• Coordinate the distribution of daily incoming work to other specialists within the department
• Recognize and identify processing issues and notify management when problems occur
• Participate in system upgrade testing, service expansions, conversions, and business continuity testing
• Monitor and report deceased customer information to appropriate departments and complete necessary changes within the core system
• Support special projects and operational initiatives as assigned by management
• Provide backup support for other departmental functions, including checking operations
• Provide backup coverage for primary and E-Commerce phone lines
• Provide customer and employee support related to electronic banking platforms and operational questions
• Maintain accuracy and attention to detail while adhering to Bank policies, procedures, internal controls, and applicable regulatory requirements

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Intermediate computer skills and ability to learn banking systems and electronic banking platforms
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent customer service skills
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time-sensitive responsibilities
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to identify and escalate processing issues appropriately
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
• General knowledge of electronic banking processes
• Ability to adhere to Bank policies, procedures, internal controls, and applicable regulatory requirements  

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous banking or financial services experience
• Previous experience with ACH or checking operations
• Knowledge of bank computer systems, products, and operational processes
• Knowledge of ACH processing and applicable NACHA requirements
• Experience with reconciliation and transaction processing
• Familiarity with electronic banking platforms and core banking systems
