The kind of person we’re looking for:

As an Accounts Receivable Specialist, you will play a key role in the Client Finance Operations team, ensuring the timely, efficient, and accurate collection of current receivables and management of past due balances. We're looking for an enthusiastic and detail-oriented individual with a passion for accounting and collections. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator, persistent, and has a positive attitude. You should thrive both independently and in a collaborative team environment, where resolving complex problems together is essential. Flexibility for a hybrid work environment is important, with expectations to be in the Newton, MA office several days a week.

The kind of stuff you’ll be doing:

  • Review past due balances and provide weekly analysis of collection trends.
  • Maintain accurate records of customer statuses, collection efforts, and performance metrics.
  • Assist with documenting AR procedures for internal cross-training and process improvement.
  • Manage client-facing portal implementation and updates.
  • Record payments, process credit card transactions, and deposit checks.
  • Follow up on overdue balances, resolve payment disputes, and handle bounced payments.
  • Process bankruptcy claims and issue necessary credits or refunds.
  • Assist with monthly close reporting and reconciliation.

 The kind of experience you’ll need:

  • 2 years of experience in Accounts Receivable or Collections, ideally in a high-volume environment.
  • Strong organizational skills with an eye for detail, ensuring accurate financial records.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to liaise with clients and internal teams.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 365, especially Excel for data analysis and reporting.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks independently while maintaining focus on team goals.

The extra stuff that would be nice:

  • Familiarity with Netsuite, Versapay, or Salesforce to enhance client management and reporting efficiency.
  • Experience in managing digital payment portals or collections software.

Salary range: $60k-$65k
