Want a seat at our table? We're looking for a highly detail-oriented and reliable individual to join our Finance & Accounting team and take ownership of our accounts receivable function. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in Excel, enjoys diving into large, complex workbooks, and is driven to get the job done right - especially when the pressure is on.
As the Accounts Receivable Specialist, you will be at the heart of our revenue operations, ensuring accuracy and accountability across our billing and collection processes. Your day-to-day work will require advanced Excel skills, precision, and a persistent, can-do attitude. You'll work closely with customers, sales, and senior finance leaders to make sure invoicing and cash application are smooth, timely, and correct.
The Main Course – Responsibilities
- Manage and execute the full customer billing cycle, including invoice generation, validation, and issue resolution
- Maintain detailed billing schedules and AR tracking models using Excel, including formulas, lookups, pivots, and macros as needed
- Reconcile customer payments, resolve discrepancies, and follow up on outstanding balances
- Partner with internal teams to ensure contract terms are accurately reflected in billing
- Respond promptly and professionally to customer billing inquiries
- Support month-end close by preparing AR reconciliations and related journal entries
- Assist in financial reporting and cash flow forecasting related to receivables
- Continuously improve and document AR processes to increase accuracy and efficiency
- Step up during peak reporting and billing periods with flexibility and urgency
What You Bring To The Table – Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
- 3–7 years of hands-on AR or billing experience
- Advanced Excel skills – comfortable in large, formula-driven spreadsheets
- Experience with NetSuite or a similar ERP system is a strong plus
- Strong attention to detail with a track record of accurate work under deadlines
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Self-motivated, dependable, and able to manage competing priorities
- Team player who doesn’t mind rolling up their sleeves
