Accounts Receivable Accountant – Maternity Cover 12 months

The position

We are currently looking for an Accounts Receivable Accountant to join our Finance team. The position will be based in our site in Portugal (Porto). Our new Accounts Receivable Accountant will be responsible for tasks within Accounts Receivable in HBK UK and HBK Denmark.

You will be part of our Nordic Cluster with English as the main language, you will interact with colleagues across the world and you will have a key role in our daily accounting operation and ongoing process optimization.

Primary responsibilities

You will be responsible for tasks in HBK UK and HBK DK in the accounts receivable team.

Your daily work includes:

• Monitor and collect accounts receivable by contacting customers via telephone and e-mail. Ensure dunning runs and follow up on replies from customers.

• Maintain accounts receivable records to ensure aging is up to date, credits and collections are applied, uncollectible amounts are accounted for, and miscellaneous differences are cleared.

• Send out customer statements

• Quote approvals, release of orders, credit control etc.

• Participate in the monthly closing procedure, such as account reconciliations etc.

• Answering inquiries by e-mail both to customers and colleagues in other departments around the world

• Assist in streamlining and improving the accounts receivable processes - identifying areas of performance improvement

Professional qualifications

You have experience in Accounts Receivable and a finance background with several years of professional experience with the mentioned tasks.

You have excellent communication skills in English.

You have experience with SAP ECC / Hana S/4. Oracle skills will be an advantage, but not a requirement. In September 2024, we migrated from Oracle to SAP S/4Hana.
