Job Summary

The Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for overseeing the accounts payable functions and assisting with AP related projects. The Accounts Payable Specialist is a hybrid position which includes working in the office once per week.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities-AP

  • Accounts payable coding and data entry
  • Submitting and routing invoices through approval system
  • Obtain W9s, set up new vendors
  • Ensure vendor invoices and contractual obligations are organized, approved, and paid in a timely manner
  • Process weekly payment runs for checks and ACH, and off-cycle payments as needed
  • Month-end close duties as assigned
  • Assist with development and maintaining Excel spreadsheets/Reports
  • Assist with support for audits as necessary
  • Work with others to resolves account issues when necessary 
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience

  • 3+ years AP or other accounting experience required
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office or related software

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities 

  • Strong organizational, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Ability to work with a diverse group of individuals
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Sage or QuickBooks experience is a plus
  • Beanworks or Bill.com experience is a plus

Physical Requirements

  • Lifting up to 10 pounds maximum and occasionally lifting and/or carrying such articles as dockets, ledgers, and files. Walking and standing are required only occasionally.
