In this role, you'll help ensure payments and vendor accounts are accurate while researching discrepancies, resolving issues, and working with vendors and internal teams to keep things moving.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with numbers but also likes problem-solving. You won't just process transactions—you'll dig into account information, ask questions, research issues, and determine the right path forward. Whether you already have accounting experience or bring related education and transferable experience, we're looking for someone who is accurate, analytical, eager to learn, and comfortable managing the details.

What You'll Do
  • Manage Vendor Accounts – Oversee a high volume of vendor accounts, ensuring payments, credits, and deductions are processed accurately and in accordance with company policies.

  • Research & Resolve Discrepancies – Investigate invoice, payment, pricing, credit, and account discrepancies to identify the issue and determine the appropriate resolution.

  • Support Payment Processes – Monitor payment activity, vendor balances, credits, and other Accounts Payable processes to ensure accuracy and timely completion.

  • Problem Solve – Review account information, documentation, and policies to research issues, identify solutions, and determine next steps.

  • Build Relationships – Serve as a point of contact for vendors and internal teams, providing professional and timely communication while helping resolve questions and account issues.

  • Collaborate Cross-Functionally – Partner with Fleet Farm stores, suppliers, and internal departments to gather information and resolve outstanding issues.

  • Work with Data – Use Excel, reports, and financial systems to organize information, research transactions, and support daily Accounts Payable activities.

What You Bring
  • Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field or equivalent relevant experience.

  • Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to research issues and determine appropriate solutions.

  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage a high volume of work and meet deadlines.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with a professional, customer-focused approach.

  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with others.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel.

  • Experience with Accounts Payable, accounting, finance, vendor accounts, reconciliations, or related work is a plus.

  • Experience with an ERP system, including Oracle, is a plus.

  • Positive attitude, strong work ethic, willingness to learn, and a team-focused approach.

Why You'll Love Working Here
  • More Than Just Processing Invoices – You'll have opportunities to investigate issues, solve problems, and understand the “why” behind the numbers.

  • Collaborative Team – Work alongside experienced Finance professionals and partners throughout Fleet Farm.

  • Learning & Growth – Gain exposure to different areas of Accounting and Finance while continuing to build your skills.

  • Stability – Join a well-established company that has served hardworking Midwestern communities since 1955.

  • Employee Discount – Enjoy special savings at Fleet Farm store locations.
