POSITION SUMMARY:
The Accounting Technician provides the Accounting and Finance department with the highest possible degree of support. The position helps to maintain a department able to perform its function and provide accurate information to end users on a timely basis.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Answers phone calls, assists public, and forwards appropriately if necessary in a professional and friendly manner.

- Accounts Payable
- Matches PO’s to invoices
- Ensures appropriate documentation and approval
- Codes invoices
- Inputs invoices
- Reconciles vendor invoices to statements
- Assists in the facilitation of payroll compilation.
- Assists with month end closing.
- Assists with quarterly and annual reporting.
- Cross trained to support peers when needed.
- Filing.
- Other duties as assigned.
Professional Requirements:
- Adheres to dress code; appearance is neat and professional.
- Completes annual education requirements if applicable.
- Maintains regulatory requirements.
- Wears identification while on duty.
- Attends annual evaluation and participates actively in this process.
- Reports to work on time and as scheduled; completes work in designated time.
- Attends all meetings as appropriate.

- Performs other duties, as assigned.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Sits, stands, bends, lifts, walks and moves intermittently during working hours.
- Willingness to work beyond normal working hours, and in other positions temporarily when necessary.
- Is involved with personnel, visitors, government agencies, etc., under all conditions and circumstances.
- Wears identification while on duty.
- Adheres to dress code.
- Completes annual review and in-service as required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Able to lift up to 25 pounds without assistance.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School diploma.
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
- Excellent inter-personal, written, and oral communication skills.
- Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when necessary.
- 3 years of professional office experience.
- Understanding of general accounting principles.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Experience with Microsoft Office applications.
