Role Summary:
We are looking for an experienced Accounting Supervisor to support our Japan business, with the potential for future career growth into a broader finance leadership role.
Reporting to the Finance Controller, this role will oversee core accounting operations across the Pump and Seal businesses in Japan. The position is responsible for closing, reporting, reconciliations, audit support, internal controls, and team development, while working closely with both local and global stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee accounting operations across GL, AP, AR, fixed assets, inventory, revenue, and cost accounting
- Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual closing activities
- Prepare and review account reconciliations in BlackLine
- Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in compliance with Japan and US GAAP, and Flowserve policies
- Strengthen internal controls and support compliance with Flowserve policies
- Perform financial result analysis against prior month, quarter, and year results
- Support internal and external audits
- Identify issues and drive process improvements in accounting and reporting
- Partner with the Finance Controller and cross-functional teams, including operations, procurement and sales
- Coach and develop accounting team members
- Work closely with regional and global finance teams in both Japanese and English
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree with Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field
- 5+ years of accounting experience in a multinational and/or manufacturing environment
- Experience in monthly and annual closing, reporting, and account reconciliations
- Experience in manufacturing accounting, including inventory and cost accounting
- Business-level English and fluent Japanese
- Knowledge of Japan GAAP and US GAAP
- Experience using ERP systems is required, Oracle or SAP is preferred

- Experience in process improvement or finance-related projects
- Experience supporting the implementation of shared service
- Experience in audit support and internal controls
- Experience leading or coaching team members
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines

Skills Required
