Your Opportunity

The Accounting Supervisor oversees and coordinates the daily operations within their department. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, has excellent computer skills, and is an independent thinker.

Core Responsibilities
  • Oversees daily transactions and participates in regular audits.

  • Manages the preparation and distribution scheduled periodic reports. Analyzes data to ensure accuracy.

  • Performs month-end activities including, journal entries, variance analysis, and account reconciliations. Assists in timely measurement and explanation of variances and operating costs.

  • Establishes accounting policies and procedures in alignment with company’s targets. Collaborates with various departments and personnel to identify best practices and improve reporting.

  • Ensures that established controls and policies are followed and documented as necessary.

  • Compiles data from various sources to prepare reports in Excel and business intelligence systems that require data entry, data manipulation, and formulas in Excel.

  • Effectively prepares, maintains, and reports financial data.

  • Manages deadlines from departments on data requirements.

  • Reports and researches for management.

  • Performs special requests and participate with projects and presentations, as needed.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four year college or university in Accounting, Finance, Business or related field and 2+ years of relevant accounting experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience required.

  • Experience acting as a lead by providing training, coaching or mentoring to less experienced staff or through managing a process or project required.

  • Knowledge of Accounting software, and Microsoft Office, specifically advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel including use of Pivot Tables and analytical tools.

  • Solid understanding of accounting concepts.

  • Solid mathematical and analytical skills.

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

  • Requires flexibility and willingness to work as part of a team.

  • Ability to work well with others in fast paced, dynamic environment.

  • Ability to be respectful, approachable and team-oriented while building strong working relationships and a positive work environment.

Supervisory Responsibilities
  • Provides leadership and guidance to employees in the accounting department.

  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.

  • Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and assisting in providing appropriate resolutions.
