Located in Weskan, Kansas, near the Colorado border, E & H Farms, Inc. is a third-generation family-owned farming organization that manages 17,000 acres of row-crop production, focusing on wheat, milo, corn, and pinto beans.

We are seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Accounting Specialist to support the financial and administrative operations of our agricultural business. This role is responsible managing day-to-day financials, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll processing. This role ensures accurate and timely recording of transactions, maintenance payroll records, and preparation of financial reports. The specialist supports month-end and year-end close activities, reconciles vendor and bank accounts, and assists with routine accounting functions and compliance documentation.

Why You’ll Love This Role

As the Accounting Specialist, you will:

· Manage daily bookkeeping transactions using accounting, ERP, and financial systems.

· Process accounts payable and receivable accurately and on schedule.

· Ensure vendor invoices are reviewed, paid promptly, and reconciled as needed.

· Maintain payroll records by and entering employee timekeeping data.

· Prepare and submit payroll accurately and on time.

· Prepare payroll and financial reports, including earnings, taxes, deductions, and 

· Complete month-end and year-end financial close activities.

· Assist with routine accounting functions and scheduled reporting.

· Research and recommend an annual payment calendar.

· Assist in developing and maintaining loan package documentation.

· Ensure payroll, tax, insurance, and employment-related reports are filed with required government agencies.

· Maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive financial, employee, and proprietary information.

  

What We’re Looking For

  • Associate degree in Accounting, Business, or a related field (preferred).
  • Proven office or administrative experience required.
  • Required experience in accounting and/or bookkeeping.
  • Payroll processing experience preferred.
  • Inventory control experience preferred.
  • Some farm operations experience or agricultural knowledge is a plus.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • High attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining data integrity.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Ability to learn or use QuickBooks and AgVero (Microsoft Navision).

Compensation & Benefits

  • Stable, full-time hourly position with competitive pay: $19 – $24 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
