Atlas OT is looking for a detail-oriented and reliable Accounting Specialist to join our growing team on a part-time basis. You will be responsible for managing day-to-day accounting functions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general bookkeeping, with the opportunity to grow into a full-time role as the business scales.
This is a hybrid role offering flexibility between in-office and remote work, making it ideal for someone who values autonomy while contributing meaningfully to a fast-growing operational technology company.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes
- Perform general bookkeeping and maintain accurate financial records
- Process invoices, payments, and reconciliations in a timely manner
- Support daily accounts payable operations, including invoice processing, payment execution, vendor maintenance, and internal control compliance to ensure accurate and timely payments
- Support sales tax filings and compliance (preferred experience)
- Collaborate with internal teams and report directly to the VP of Operations
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, tax regulations, 1099 reporting requirements, and audit standards while supporting internal and external audit requests.
- Complete month-end AP/AR accruals and related close activities, ensuring deadlines are met and documentation is accurate and complete.
- Identify, recommend, implement, and document process improvements, best practices, and system enhancements to strengthen AP operations and service delivery.

Requirements
- 5+ years of bookkeeping or accounting experience (AP/AR)
- Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, Zoho preferred, or similar)
- Strong GAAP accounting knowledge preferred
- Multi State Filings Sales Tax experience preferred
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Construction, Engineering, Procurement industry experience preferred
- Ability to work independently in a hybrid/remote environment
- Available 20–30 hours per week with flexibility on scheduling
