The LAA Controllers organization has an opportunity within the Brazil Controllers team for an Accounting Specialist position located in Sao Paulo, SP.

About you and this role

This position plays a key role in ensuring the overall accuracy and integrity of the financial statements and support the management and the Entity Accounting Leader in Financial and Statutory Accounting, the key responsibilities include:

Responsibilities: 

  • Participates in various accounting functions including and not limited: general ledger maintenance, review of financial scorecard, US GAAP to Statutory, reconciliations, ensure compliance to operational policies and processes;

  • Preparation of financial statement footnotes and supporting schedules

  • Accountable for providing assistance with the monthly, quarterly and yearly accounting close;

  • Assists with implementing accounting policies and procedures to ensure all financial transactions are executed according to GAAP and IFRS principles;

  • Preparations of fluctuation analysis and performance of financial statement analytics, providing meaningful explanations for fluctuations provided to senior management;

  • Implementation and documentation of internal controls and procedures as required by SOX;

  • Participation in process streamlining and improvement projects;

  • In charge by annual financial audits and quarterly reviews with external auditors, including preparation and review of schedules;

  • Interacting with internal and external stakeholders;

  • Coordinating closely with the other finance teams to ensure complete and accurate accruals;

  • Support the leadership with accounting analysis;

  • Planning and structuring work activities and setting deadlines, monitoring the progress and results;  

  • Leading accounting projects (M&A);

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor´s Degree in Accounting (Preferred)

  • Fluent English level

  • Spanish skills is desired

  • Professional License (CRC) - Active  

  • Experience in Big 4 public accounting firm is desired;

  • Understanding of GAAP and applicable accounting rules and regulations;

  •  Excellent verbal and written communication skills;

  • Strong organization and problem solver skills;

  • Experience working with SAP;

  • Six or more years of relevant work experience preferred in manufactory industry;

  • Experience in the preparation and review of general ledger posting and account reconciliation;

  • Knowledge of FASB, SEC requirements, SOX, GAAP and IFRS accounting best practices and cross functional accounting impacts;
