Purpose:
The Accounting Representative provides support for the organization’s policy & agent related accounting functions. Performs routine to moderate accounting tasks with a focus balance and control processes related to disbursements. Other tasks may include working with bank files, reconciliations, journal entries, and data analysis.Accountabilities:
Accountabilities:
- Process banking tasks such as EFT rejects and notifications of change.
- Performs daily balance and control process for outgoing disbursements.
- Processes work items including stop pay requests, check copies, EFT tracer requests and return company checks.
- Notifies accounting management of outstanding accounting items, assists with research, and maintains proper documentation.
- Prepares and processes accounting journal entries.
- Adheres to corporate accounting and federal accounting standards including SOX and GAAP.
- Works with frequent supervision to complete tasks.
- Backs up other positions and performs other duties as assigned with-in the accounting unit.
Qualifications and Experience:
- High school diploma or GED required; Accounting degree preferred
- Minimum 1-2 years accounting experience
- Ability to navigate multiple computer systems with minimal assistance needed
- Exhibits teamwork and collaboration
