Job Description

Ideal candidate
The ideal candidate:
- holds a bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Banking, Business Administration or any related field, coupled with a passion for numbers and business strategy (CPA or MBA preferred).
- has 5-10 years of accounting experience.
- excels in managing month-end and quarterly closings, financial statements, and ensuring compliance with GAAP.
- is skilled in leading teams; handles complex tasks like tracking financial reports, managing audits, and reviewing policies.
- is proficient with ERP systems (i.e. Oracle is a plus),
- brings strong analytical, organizational, and Microsoft Office skills, thriving under pressure
- to meet tight deadlines.
Responsibilities
- Ensure all accounting processes and deliverables are aligned with legal & Group requirements.
- Lead all accounting operations, including the preparation of statutory financial statements and oversee external audits.
- Prepare management reporting of balance sheet, income statement, cash flow statement, equity reports monthly, quarterly, annual, based on a specific reporting calendar.
- Lead all general corporate accounting matters, including benefits, payroll, pension, prepaid, accrued liabilities, insurance, debt, equity, and taxes.
- Review and ensure timely completion monthly journal entries and account reconciliations to ensure compliance with the Groups’ policies and procedures
- Review all accounting and Finance policies s and procedures as well as controls and modify them to best be documented and followed through
- Develop and monitor compliance of accounting policies and procedures in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
- Identify and implement accounting process improvements tailored to each business need.
- Prepare and review of budgets and financial forecasts for accounting services department.
- Analyze and report on P&L performance, highlighting key variances and recommending corrective actions when necessary.
- Manage tax compliance, including VAT filings, corporate income tax, and deferred tax calculations.
- Prepare and submit local reports to national bank, statistical offices, and other authorities.
- Oversee accounting, reconciliations, and payroll cost control.
- Lead and manage the external & internal audit process for accounting and audit matters.
- Assist accounting staff members to ensure system-wide daily/weekly accounting system procedures are performed timely and accurately.
- Coordinate with Budgeting and reporting on reviewing company’s budget vs. actual results.
- Leads the Company compliance with internal controls around certain accounting activities.
- Collaborate with internal departments to optimize processes, drive efficiencies, and achieve cost savings.
- Responsible setting objectives, and analysis across accounting & finance aspects of thebusiness.
- Develop and mentor the accounting team through coaching, training, and performance reviews.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Banking, Business Administration or any related field, coupled with a passion for numbers and business strategy
- 5 to 10 years ‘experience in Accounting field.
- Proven experience in preparation of Statutory Financial statements.
- Knowledge of Romanian tax topics, including VAT, CIT, Deferred tax.
- Very good knowledge of Romanian Accounting Standards (IFRS experience is an advantage);
- Good computer knowledge plus ability to work with special accounting ERP’s (i.e. Oracle is a plus).
- CECCAR active membership, is a plus.
- Proven ability to make business recommendations based on financial analysis and understanding of business strategy
- Strong analytical thinking
- Advanced Excel, Power BI or other data analysis and presentation tools
- Collaboration and leadership skills, able to empower and influence
- Fluent in English (verbal and written communication skills).
