Position Summary

The Accounting Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the finance department, ensuring that financial processes and procedures are efficient, accurate, and compliant with company policies and regulatory standards. This role will supervise the Accounting Operations team, ensuring the seamless execution of their duties while maintaining a strong control environment.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Leadership and Management

  • Supervise and manage the Accounting Operations team (Billing, Accounts Payable, Payroll, and Representative Payee).
  • Ensure that all team members are effectively trained, motivated, and meet performance standards.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor accounting policies and procedures to ensure efficient and effective operations.

Process Oversight

  • Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of billing, accounts payable, payroll and representative payee functions.
  • Implement improvements in accounting operational systems and processed for better efficiency and accuracy.

Compliance & Reporting

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local financial regulations.
  • Monitor and enforce proper accounting methods, policies, procedures, and principles.
  • Work closely with internal and external auditors during audit processes, providing information, and documentation as needed

Reporting Analysis

  • Provide reports on key operational metrics to the CFO and leadership team.
  • Assist in preparing budgets, forecasts, and financial planning initiatives as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; CPA or advanced degree preferred.
  • 7+ years of progressive nonprofit finance experience with leadership responsibility.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, practices, and regulations.
  • Proficiency in accounting systems and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across departments and with external stakeholders.

Other Job details:

  • Monday- Friday 8am-4:30pm

Skills Required
