The Hearst Television Regional Finance team is looking for a Regional Accounting Manager. The Regional Accounting Manager works with Regional Controllers and station Business Managers to accurately prepare monthly financial results for designated stations assigned within the Region. The position is involved in the preparation and analysis of the stations’ annual operating forecasts, budgets and various monthly reports including variance analyses and reconciliations. A successful candidate must possess the ability to perform multiple projects simultaneously, while also managing the workflow of the station Business Managers.
The position is in-office based at the Hearst Television business office hub, located at WCVB-TV in Needham, MA.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and review financial statements and supporting schedules for multiple stations in accordance with monthly and annual close requirements
- Post and review financial data in general ledgers and journals; prepare and review reconciliations
- Manage monthly and annual close processes, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timeliness
- Review accounting documentation for accuracy and proper accounting treatment; prepare and approve correcting journal entries as needed
- Prepare, maintain, and oversee subsidiary accounting records across a variety of transactions and accounts
- Perform and review account analyses and balance sheet reconciliations
- Partner with Station Business Managers in the preparation of station forecasts and annual budgets
- Assist in the preparation of year-end audit schedules and respond to audit-related requests
- Ensure adherence to internal controls, accounting policies, and GAAP standards
- Perform other related duties as assigned or requested
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or equivalent relevant experience
- Minimum of 3+ years of accounting experience
- Working knowledge of Oracle Financials and/or Oracle Planning & Budgeting Cloud Service (EPBCS)
- Experience with SmartView/Essbase and enterprise financial systems such as Oracle or SAP
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; proficient in PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook

Salary
The salary for this role is $80,000-$100,000. The actual base pay offered is dependent upon many factors, such as transferable skills, work experience, business needs, market demands and conditions, including geographic location where the work will be performed, and other factors permitted by law. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
