Accounting Manager

Summary:
This position is responsible for assisting the Corporate Accounting Director with managing certain specified areas of the accounting process, along with numerous ad hoc requests. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter who is capable of independent problem-solving and the carrying out of complex projects. The candidate should have experience with complex accounting areas (e.g., revenue recognition, expense recognition, consolidation, stock-based compensation, and business combination accounting). The candidate should be comfortable moving between various tasks, and confident in their ability to attack new challenges head on. This position offers the chance to be involved in multiple facets of the accounting function and is a great opportunity for a driven candidate who is looking for an opportunity to gain new experience and join a growing company.
Responsibilities:
- Manage various areas of the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close process.
- Prepare and review year-end audit schedules. Assist with ongoing compliance audits and year-end financial audits.
- Assist in the preparation and review of financial statement information to ensure compliance with US GAAP
- Research and prepare accounting memos to document proper application of US GAAP to a variety of complex business transactions (e.g., revenue recognition, expense recognition, stock-based compensation, and business combination accounting)
- Assist in establishing and implementing internal controls and procedures to ensure financial statements are fairly and accurately presented.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements to create efficient and effective processes and procedures for the accounting function.
- Manage training and motivation of the accounting staff.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required.
- 5 – 7 years of accounting experience.
- Working knowledge of GAAP.
- Strong financial analysis skills.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong organizational and stress management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly with Excel.
- Ability to train and manage staff.
- Ability to work with little to no supervision.
What’s the expected pay for this role?
- Pay range of $120,000 - $155,000 (Base plus bonus) per year
- The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire and will be dependent on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to geographic location, skill set, experience, education, credentials, and licensure when applicable.
