Collectors is the leading creator of innovative technology that provides value-added services for collectors worldwide. We grade, authenticate, vault, and sell millions of record-setting collectibles, all while modernizing and digitalizing the process to further our mission of helping collectors pursue their passions. We’re always on the lookout for talented people to join our growing team.
Our services span collectible trading cards, autographs, comic books, coins, video games, event tickets, and memorabilia. Our subsidiaries include PSA, PCGS, Beckett, SGC, and Card Ladder.
Since our founding in 1986, we have graded and authenticated millions of items. We employ more than 3000 people across our headquarters in Santa Ana, California and offices in New Jersey, Texas, Florida, Japan, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Canada, Mexico, Germany, and France.
We’re looking for an Accounting Manager to join our Accounting and Finance team to own the accounting process for one of our brands, and continue to build on our financial foundation. We need a "player-coach" who can manage a small team while building the scalable, SOX-compliant processes of the future. This isn't just about managing the books—it's about leveraging AI and automation to transform our month-end close into a high-speed, high-accuracy engine.
You’ll report to the Director of Accounting and work from our Santa Ana, CA office headquarters. Hybrid candidates will also be considered. We believe that there is significant value in in-person collaboration. If you live within a 1 hour commuting distance to one of our offices, you will be required to be onsite most of the time. This will be discussed further as part of the recruiting process.
What You’ll Do:
Drive the Close: Lead the month-end close process for multiple subsidiaries and business lines, including intercompany eliminations, cash, accruals, fixed assets, prepaids, and payroll
Shorten the Cycle: Evaluate and implement AI-driven tools and software to automate manual workflows, with a goal of significantly reducing our days-to-close
ERP Optimization: Facilitate our transition into NetSuite, ensuring the system is optimized for scale, accurate reporting, and future growth
Compliance & SOX: Build and document robust internal controls from the ground up to ensure we are compliant with external audit requirements and prepared for future SOX standards
Collaborative Analysis: Partner with the Finance & Strategy team to perform deep-dive fluctuation analysis across the income statement, balance sheet, and statement of cash flows to explain the "why" behind the numbers
Audit Ownership: Act as the primary point of contact for our annual external audits, managing requests and ensuring a seamless, transparent process
Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a small, high-performing accounting team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and technical excellence
Who You Are:
The "Builder" Mentality: You aren't satisfied with "the way it's always been done." You enjoy creating new processes and finding efficiencies in a high-growth environment
High Agency & Bias for Action: You don't wait for a roadmap; you create one. You take full ownership of your domain, proactively identifying bottlenecks and solving them before they become issues
Systems Expert: You have deep familiarity with modern ERPs and a passion for accounting technology and AI tools. You understand how data flows through a system and how to automate it
Technical Foundations: Strong command of US GAAP and experience managing intercompany accounting for multiple subsidiaries
Detail-Oriented & Scalable: Detail-oriented with the ability to multitask. Organized, problem solver, flexible and able to prioritize. You understand how to build documentation that stands up to the scrutiny of Big 4 auditors and IPO requirements
Communicator: Team player with strong communication and interpersonal skills. You can translate complex accounting entries into meaningful insights for stakeholders in Finance and Operations
Qualifications:
5+ years of accounting experience (a mix of Big 4 public accounting and industry is preferred)
Active CPA license
Proven experience managing at least 1–2 direct reports
NetSuite experience is a strong plus, but deep proficiency in a similar modern ERP (e.g., Sage Intacct, Oracle, SAP) is required
Advanced Excel skills
Experience with ERP implementation or significant system migrations is highly valued
Prior experience in a public company, company preparing for an IPO, or navigating rigorous external audits

The salary range for this position is $125,000-$169,000. Actual compensation on this range varies based on a variety of non-discriminatory factors, including location, job level, experience, and skill set.
