With millions of diners, 60,000+ restaurant partners and 25+ years of experience, OpenTable, part of Booking Holdings, Inc. (NASDAQ: BKNG), is an industry leader with a passion for helping restaurants thrive. Our world-class technology empowers restaurants to focus on what matters most – their team, their guests, and their bottom line – while enabling diners to discover and book the perfect restaurant for every occasion.

Every employee at OpenTable has a tangible impact on what we do and how we do it. You’ll also be part of a global team and its portfolio of metasearch brands. Hospitality is all about taking care of others, and it defines our culture.

As Manager, Accounting, you will own the day‑to‑day accounting and month‑end close for a set of core operational accounting areas (including marketing and fixed assets), ensuring results are accurate, timely, and well‑controlled.

You will work closely with our global Centre of Excellence (COE) and brand accounting teams to standardize processes, improve reconciliations and controls, and support clear, high‑quality financial reporting and commentary for senior stakeholders.

This role is a good fit for a hands‑on Accounting Manager who enjoys process ownership, problem‑solving, and collaborating across Finance and the wider business.

The Role:

Core Accounting & Reporting

  • Financial Close: Lead and drive the month-end close for key areas (including marketing and fixed assets), ensuring the completeness and accuracy of the US GAAP general ledger and timely reconciliation completion.

  • Drive Financial Clarity: Provide insightful monthly and quarterly P&L and balance sheet flux analysis and commentary for senior stakeholders, providing critical visibility upwards by clearly articulating key drivers, risks, and one-off items.

  • Ensure Technical Integrity: Perform critical technical reviews and evaluations of commercial contracts (such as marketing agreements), applying strong technical accounting judgment with a balanced commercial perspective.

  • Act as Subject Matter Expert: Serve as a trusted resource by responding to ad-hoc queries with clear, consistent, and well-supported explanations across your areas of ownership.

Champion Process Improvement & Innovation

  • Transform Processes: Champion continuous improvement initiatives, identifying and driving opportunities to simplify, streamline, and automate close processes, including the appropriate use of AI tools.

  • Standardize Operations: Partner with the Centre of Excellence (COE) team to transition, standardize, and maintain recurring reconciliations and close tasks, ensuring consistency and a robust control environment.

Partner with the Business

  • Be a Strategic Partner: Work closely with business and functional partners to develop a deep commercial awareness, providing observations and recommendations that ensure efficient processes and a strong internal control framework.

  • Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Collaborate with the Consolidation & Reporting, Finance Operations, and Tax teams to provide comprehensive impacts and considerations for key areas.

Lead & Develop the Team

  • Leadership: Lead, coach, and develop one direct report, and support the wider brand accounting and COE teams.

  • Build Capability: Provide day-to-day direction, coaching, and support to junior team members and COE preparers, helping to build their capability and ownership over time.

  • Foster Communication: Coordinate effectively across multiple time zones (US, Europe, India, APAC) and foster a culture of transparent communication, normalizing timely and informal feedback to empower and develop the team.

Please apply if you have:

Experience & Qualifications

  • Fully‑qualified accountant (e.g. ACA, ACCA, CPA, CA or equivalent), or equivalent strong experience in financial accounting.

  • Solid experience in financial accounting / GL roles, including ownership of month‑end close, reconciliations, and process improvement for key balance sheet and P&L areas.

  • Experience working with or alongside a shared service / COE model, including supporting process transitions and ongoing governance, is a plus.

Skills & ways of working

  • Strong technical grounding in US GAAP / IFRS and good accounting judgement on day‑to‑day issues.

  • Ability to standardize and document processes and to use data and systems to support reconciliations and analysis.

  • Clear, concise communicator, able to explain accounting topics and reconciliation outcomes to both finance and non‑finance partners.

  • Proactive, organized, and comfortable managing multiple deadlines in a fast‑moving environment.

  • Curious, hands-on and solution focussed, equally at ease in the detail and looking at the big picture.

  • Embrace change and strive to continuously improve the way we work and collaborate with each other, both within finance and the wider business.
