We’ll trust you to:
- Financial Close & Reporting Leadership
- Lead core components of the monthly close process to achieve a consistent 5–7 business day close.
- Review and approve journal entries, accruals, allocations, and complex reconciliations.
- Oversee preparation and review of monthly financial statements and management reporting packages.
- Strengthen balance sheet governance, ensuring reconciliations are timely, well-supported, and documented.
- Partner with FP&A to ensure alignment between actuals, forecasts, and departmental reporting.
- Revenue Recognition & Technical Accounting
- Support application of ASC 606 (and IFRS 15 where applicable) for professional services revenue, including T&M, fixed-fee, multi-element arrangements, and long-term contracts.
- Review revenue postings, contract data flow, and invoicing processes within Sage Intacct and related systems.
- Support technical accounting analyses, including capitalized development costs, lease accounting, and complex accruals.
- Assist the Controller with accounting position papers and implementation of new standards or policies.
- Systems, Automation & Process Improvement
- Serve as a power user of Sage Intacct, including multi-entity structures, consolidations, FX considerations, and prepaid/fixed asset modules.
- Partner on integrations across Intacct, Planful, Ramp, Ruddr, ADP, and banking platforms to reduce manual workflows and spreadsheet dependency.
- Lead documentation and enhancement of SOPs across core processes (monthly close, revenue posting, cash receipts, expense coding, prepaid amortization, sales tax, etc.).
- Identify process gaps in a scaling environment and proactively implement improvements.
- Audit, Tax & Compliance Support
- Manage preparation and review of audit schedules and coordinate responses to external auditors.
- Support tax compliance by preparing schedules for federal, state, local, and international filings.
- Support sales tax filings and multi-state compliance processes.
- Assist with shareholder reporting, tax distribution calculations, and K-1 support.
- Treasury & Operational Oversight
- Oversee daily cash activity, working capital visibility, and banking transactions.
- Review A/R aging, A/P processes, and expense management workflows.
- Monitor recurring obligations (e.g., debt service, utilities, leases) and ensure timely processing and documentation.
- Team Leadership & Cross-Functional Partnership
- Directly manage and develop Senior Accountants and Staff Accountants.
- Establish clear accountability, performance expectations, and development pathways.
- Foster a collaborative, inclusive team culture that values ownership, adaptability, and continuous improvement.
- Partner with operational leaders to improve financial visibility and discipline across departments.
You’ll need to have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA strongly preferred.
- 7–10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including supervisory responsibility.
- Strong GAAP expertise, including ASC 606 revenue recognition.
- Experience in professional services, consulting, or multi-entity environments.
- Hands-on experience with Sage Intacct (multi-entity and consolidations preferred).
- Demonstrated ability to operate effectively in a high-growth, PE-backed organization.
- Advanced Excel and strong systems orientation; experience with Planful, Ramp, Ruddr, ADP, and BI tools preferred.
- Strong communication skills and executive presence.
- A proactive, change-oriented mindset with the ability to balance strategic thinking and executional detail.
