As Accounting Manager, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the Australian finance team through the ongoing integration with our Japanese-based parent company, Renesas. Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, maintaining compliance with IFRS, and collaborating with global teams to drive integration success.
A day in the life of our Accounting Manager:Operational Excellence
- Lead and manage the financial month-end close process to ensure timely and accurate reporting of monthly, quarterly, and year-to-date financial results.
- Prepare and review financial results for submission to the global consolidation team.
- Oversee the preparation of consolidated and local subsidiary financial reports; liaise with local audit teams.
- Ensure the integrity of financial reporting outputs and collaborate with internal stakeholders and the Financial Leadership team.
- Partner with regional teams to optimize finance systems for accurate, consistent reporting and informed decision-making.
- Assist the Financial Controller in managing financial risks, controls, and coordination of finance activities.
- Drive continuous improvement in internal controls and financial processes.
Technical Accounting
- Prepare annual statutory financial reports and manage local technical accounting matters (e.g., impairment assessments, IFRS interpretations).
- Serve as a key contact for external auditors, addressing audit processes and technical accounting issues.
- Champion the adoption of global accounting policies and provide technical accounting support.
Strategic Contribution
- Actively contribute to the successful execution of post-merger integration initiatives across finance functions and ad-hoc finance projects.
Leadership & People Management
- Influence stakeholders at all levels through effective communication, collaboration, and business partnering.
- Lead, coach, and develop direct reports, fostering a high-performance culture and strong team engagement.
- CA or CPA qualified.
- Minimum 6 years’ experience in financial reporting or a related field.
- Proven experience in fast-paced, dynamic finance environments.
- Exposure to international reporting standards; IFRS expertise essential.
- Experience with Netsuite, DIVA, and Adaptive Planning is highly desirable.
- Strong initiative, results-driven, with exceptional attention to detail.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to build trust and adapt quickly to change in a global, collaborative environment.
