The Accounting Manager Role at EveryLife

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Accounting Manager to oversee the accounting functions for our parent company and its subsidiaries. The successful candidate will ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, maintain compliance with regulatory requirements, and support the company's financial goals through effective management and coordination of accounting activities. The Accounting Manager will be fully immersed in the accounting and bookkeeping for PublicSquare and its wholly owned subsidiary, EveryLife. The Accounting Manager will report to the Assistant Controller.

Role and Responsibilities

• Prepare and review daily, monthly, and quarterly journal entries, ensuring they are correctly posted to the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP and SEC regulations.
• Supervise and mentor a team of accounting professionals, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations to support their development and the overall success of the team.
• Oversee the organization's inventory accounting to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance with all relevant regulations.
• Reconcile key financial statement account balances and help to resolve variances.
• Work closely with other departments, including finance, operations, and legal, to support business initiatives and ensure alignment with overall company objectives.
• Assist with external audits and in providing all necessary information to auditors.
• Assist management with budgeting, forecasting and demand planning.
• Other job duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

• Alignment with the company values of EveryLife and its parent company, PublicSquare.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Licensed CPA preferred.
• Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive accounting experience in a similar role, including at least 1-2 years in a managerial role, preferably within a publicly traded company or complex multi-entity organization.
• Strong understanding of US GAAP, SEC reporting requirements, and SOX compliance.
• Proficiency in using accounting software (e.g. Sage Intacct), MS Office Suite (particularly Excel), Google Suite, and other financial management tools.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• High level of integrity and professionalism.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• Ability to adapt to changes in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience with Sage Intacct a plus.
