Accounting Manager

The Opportunity 

The Accounting Manager is responsible for managing and overseeing the financial accounting and reporting functions for Beyond Identity Inc. The  Accounting Manager will work closely with cross-functional teams, including FP&A, Revenue Operations, to ensure accurate and timely preparation of financial statements, adherence to accounting principles, and compliance with regulations.

Preference will be given to candidates in the New York City area, who will be expected to be onsite a few days a week.

What You Can Expect to Do:

• Manage and maintain time and expense in accordance with T&E policy.
• Manage and maintain accounts payables and credit card transactions.
• Process AR invoices and manage collections process.
• Process payroll for US and Canada employees.

Month-End and Year-End Close:

• Coordinate and execute month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes.
• Ensure all necessary adjustments and reconciliations are completed for balance sheet accounts accurately and on time.
• Perform bank reconciliations for all bank accounts.
• Review and approve journal entries.
• Work closely with the Revenue Operations team to ensure proper documentation of contract terms and their impact on revenue recognition.
• File monthly, quarterly, annual sales and use tax returns.
• File annual Delaware Franchise tax return.
• Prepare and file 1099’s.

Financial Reporting & Analysis:

• Lead the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
• Perform analysis to identify trends for revenue and expenses.
• Work with FP&A on month-end, quarter-end, and year-end reporting.

Internal Controls & Compliance:

• Manage the preparation of financial schedules and supporting documentation for audits.
• Working with external auditors to resolve any issues.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies to maintain the integrity of financial reporting.
• Monitor changes in accounting standards and regulations affecting the  industry, ensuring timely adoption.
• Ensure proper application of revenue recognition standards (ASC 606) for  contracts, rent amortization standards (ASC 842), and stock based compensation  standards (ASC 718). 
• Work with the external tax team on financials for corporate tax extensions and annual filings.

Cash Flow Management:

• Oversee cash flow management processes, ensuring sufficient cash liquidity for day-to-day operations.
• Analyze customer payment trends and invoice collections.

System Improvements & Automation:

• Identify areas for automation and improvement in the accounting processes and software.

What we Hope You’ll Bring:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or equivalent preferred not required).
• Experience:
• 5+ years of experience in accounting or finance, with at least 2 years in a subscription-based environment.
• Demonstrated experience with revenue recognition (ASC 606), Rent (ASC 842) Stock Compensation (ASC 718).
• Proven leadership skills with experience managing or mentoring a team.
• Skills:
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles (GAAP).
• 2+ Years proficiency in Netsuite ERP systems.
• Strong Excel and financial reporting skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Attributes:
