Maersk Czechia is looking for a driven Finance and Accounting professional to take on a Accounting Manager role for the Czech, Slovakia and Hungary Office. It is a managerial contributor role that demands coordination, supervision, and management of the service delivery of the appropriate parties: Global Service Center (GSC), local service providers (e.g. Accounting services, Tax advisors, Auditors etc.), and serving as the Subject Matter Expert for local and group accounting and reporting issues and accuracy, including tax compliance. Moreover the Senior Accountant will manage a person.

Key responsibilities:

Business Continuity

  • Supervision of accounting activities and cooperation with Global Service Center (GCS) in India and Philippines
  • Participation and coordination of monthly and Year-end closing
  • Communication with local authorities, auditors and external consultants (tax, legal)
  • Cooperation with departments within the company and their stakeholders
  • Optimalization of financial and accounting processes
  • Budget and control Sales, General and Administration costs (SGA) inclusive of FTEs count
  • Manage compliance with competition rules

Tax

  • Ensure compliance with local Tax rules and deadlines in coordination with Tax advisors
  • Support Finance senior management / directly deal with the tax authorities as appropriate

Legal and Corporate Secretarial

  • Act as the entry point for vendor and customer escalation (e.g.: litigation)
  • Oversee legal disputes in coordination with Centre legal and/or local legal counsel
  • Ensure that local documentary requirements are satisfied (i.e. board minutes, shareholders’ authorization, etc.)

We are looking for:

  • A financial educational background as Master’s degree in Finance, Tax, Accounting
  • Substantial experience (4-5 years) in a similar function
  • Knowledge of finance, financial concepts and processes and financial best practices in reporting, budgeting and financial management
  • Preferable experience in working closely with offshore teams in service centers and experience from international company
  • Ability to coordinate and supervise remotely
  • Willingness to learn and ability to prioritize
  • Team player with strong communication skills and positive attitude
  • Fluent in Czech and English
