As an Accounting Manager, Revenue Accounting, you will be part of the team responsible for overseeing revenue accounting activities associated with strategic external partnerships and other retail revenue streams, ensuring the accurate, timely, and compliant accounting and reporting of complex partnership arrangements.
In this role, you will manage monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities related to partnership revenue, including reporting, preparing journal entries, and variance analysis; analyze partnership agreements and business arrangements to determine appropriate revenue recognition and accounting treatment; develop and maintain accounting processes, controls, and documentation to support accurate and compliant revenue reporting; identify opportunities to improve processes, systems, controls, and reporting through automation and standardization. You will also partner cross-functionally with operations, finance, legal, and external partners to support the organization’s broader revenue objectives and drive process efficiencies.
About you:
- Four-year Accounting degree and 3-6 years of related experience
- Strong GAAP knowledge
- Driven to innovate, make meaningful improvements to process, and enhance partnerships
- Ability to manage ambiguity, work independently and take initiative
- Data analysis and modeling experience
- Ability to summarize complex, detailed topics for partners and leadership
- Strong business partner, able to collaborate with teams across the organization
- Experience with SAP general ledger and reporting tools (AFO, BW)
- CPA preferred
This position will operate as a Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement based on Target’s needs. A Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement means the team member’s core role will need to be performed both onsite at the Target HQ MN location (Tues/Wednesday) the role is assigned to and virtually, depending upon what your role, team and tasks require for that day.
