Looking for an accounting professional who can work independently and demonstrate strong initiative, provide guidance to senior accountants, and has solid experience managing the full-cycle accounting close process.
GENERAL FUNCTIONThe Accounting Manager is responsible for various function-based accounting activities (e.g. revenue deferrals, recording of legal expense, marketing, etc.). The Accounting Manager also evaluates and makes appropriate improvements to internal accounting processes, ensuring that practices are in line with the overall goals of the organization.
MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES- Completes month-end close duties accurately and timely (e.g. recording/approving journal entries, performing variance analysis, etc.).
- Interacts with accounting partners in North America and across the world.
- Identifies, analyzes and concludes on proper accounting for complicated accounting transactions/areas.
- Performs technical accounting research to identify proper accounting treatment or to support current accounting policies/practices.
- Prepares/reviews reconciliations for various balance sheet accounts. Analyzes balances to ensure they are accurate. Communicates unreconciled items to management.
- Ensures compliance with GAAP and IFRS accounting requirements, as well as Sarbanes-Oxley regulations.
- Works directly with internal and external auditors to ensure successful and timely completion of internal audits and quarterly/annual reviews.
- Reviews and provides feedback on the work of others, as requested.
- Proactively identifies and implements process improvements as necessary.
- Special project work as assigned.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting.
- 6+ years of relevant experience.
- Demonstrate willingness and ability to be a self-starter, taking the initiative to solve problems.
- Demonstrate the ability and desire to initiate and successfully accomplish personal and business goals.
- Ability to analyze problems, compile data, determine facts and reach a logical conclusion.
- Ability to prioritize and multitask.
