The role:
We are currently looking for an Accounting Manager in Spain to oversee the accounting operations of the organization, ensuring the accuracy and reliability of financial reporting. Your responsibilities will include managing a team of accountants, overseeing the preparation of financial statements, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations. You will also be involved in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis to support strategic decision making. With a focus on process improvement, you will lead initiatives to streamline accounting procedures and enhance internal controls. This role requires strong leadership skills, in depth knowledge of accounting practices, and the ability to mentor and develop your team.
Principal Responsibilities:
Financial Analysis and Reporting:

• Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement

• Prepare and present financial reports to senior management, highlighting key findings and recommendations

• Develop and monitor key performance indicators to track departmental and organizational performance

• Work with other departments to gather and analyze financial data for budgeting and forecasting purposes.

Team Management:

• Understand team dynamics and effective management practices. Supervisors should be adept at balancing individual tasks with overseeing team performance.

• Conflict Resolution: Ability to address conflicts within the team professionally and constructively.

• Motivational Skills: Inspire and motivate team members to achieve their best.

• Adaptability: Supervisors often encounter changing priorities and unexpected challenges. Being adaptable and flexible is crucial.

• Decision Making: Make informed decisions based on organizational goals and guidelines.

Team Supervision:

• Provide guidance and direction to staff, including setting performance goals and conducting performance evaluations

• Coordinate and assign tasks to accounting team members, ensuring timely completion and accuracy

• Mentor and train new staff members, promoting a culture of learning and development

• Handle any performance or disciplinary issues that may arise within the department

Qualifications:

• A bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field with at least 8 years’ experience, with at least 4 year experience as a people manager or equivalent work experience that provides exposure to fundamental theories, principles, and concepts.

• Strong skills in accounting software, advanced Excel capabilities, and familiarity with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.

• The ability to analyze complex financial data and provide strategic recommendations.

• Experience in leading a team

• A thorough understanding of GAAP, tax codes, and financial regulations.

• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities for reporting financial information to management and stakeholders.

• Precision and attention to detail are crucial for ensuring the accuracy of financial records and reports.

• Fluency in English and Spanish is required

Preferred Qualifications:

• CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or similar certification, such as CMA (Certified Management Accountant) or ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants)
