The Role

We’re looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Accounting Manager to join our Finance Team!  Reporting to our Sr. Manager, Accounting, this is an opportunity to join a fast growing startup and play a driving role in our accounting and financial operations. 

Our ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, experience with fast-paced monthly close operations, the ability and desire to wear many hats, and  efficiently communicate across all levels and functions of the organization. This role is pivotal to ensuring the accuracy of our financial records and compliance with accounting standards and internal control requirements. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the month-end and year-end close process in the general ledger function, with a focus in areas such as cash and investments, long-lived assets, deferred commissions, credit card transactions, vendor accruals and payroll accounting, etc., ensuring financial transactions are accurately recorded in accordance with U.S. GAAP. 
  • Prepare and/or review journal entries and account reconciliations in a timely manner.
  • Conduct in-depth analysis of financial data to identify and resolve issues or discrepancies that arise during the closing process.
  • Provide guidance and training to accounting staff and business partners as needed.
  • Proactively seek ways to optimize existing accounting and business processes through use of automation, thoughtful analysis, and researching best practices in the industry.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor internal controls to ensure the accuracy of financial records and compliance with U.S. GAAP and SOX requirements. 
  • Assist with requests from external auditors as needed.
  • Assist with special, ad-hoc projects in Accounting/Finance by understanding the problem statement, developing a plan, and executing on deliverables. .

Requirements

  • Self starter with high motivation, the ability to work autonomously and efficiently manage workload
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills with a strong customer focus and a service minded attitude
  • Must be detail oriented, able to solve problems and multitask
  • Passion in process improvement and automation
  • Experience with NetSuite is strongly preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft with a strong emphasis on Excel is a must

What you’ll bring to the role

  • BS in Accounting degree and CPA license preferred
  • Minimum 6 years of experience in an Accounting role, operational and Big 4 accounting experience preferred
  • Experience in the technology sector or a similar fast-paced industry is highly desirable
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting requirements
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization
  • High attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

In the United States, the base compensation range for this role is $106,000 - $127,000.  Actual compensation may vary based on level, experience, and skillset as assessed in the interview process. Benefits include equity, bonus (if applicable), and other benefits listed on our careers page.
